Four things to know about Frontier Airlines price drops before deciding whether to claim one.
Cancel a Frontier booking within 24 hours of making it and you get a full refund to your original payment, as long as your flight is at least 7 days away. If the price drops in that window, book the cheaper fare first to lock it in, then cancel the original in My Trips.
Frontier keeps the difference when you change to a flight that costs less: its policy says there is no leftover value after the change. So a price drop is never claimed with Change. Cancel the booking for a travel credit instead, then buy the cheaper fare again with that credit.
Economy, Premium and Business bundles cancel with no fee, so every dollar of a drop comes back as credit. Basic and Standard fares pay a cancel fee per passenger, per direction: $149 if you booked from September 25, 2026, $129 from June 5 to September 24, 2026, and $99 before that.
After the first 24 hours, Frontier gives back travel credit, never cash, and keeps certain carrier charges on top of any cancel fee. Check the expiry date on your credit in My Trips before you cancel, and only claim a drop you are sure you can use on a future Frontier flight. Credit may be one-time use, so pay for the cheaper flight by card and save the credit for a trip that costs at least as much.
