Cancel a JetBlue booking within 24 hours of making it and you pay no cancellation fee, as long as you booked at least 7 days before departure and cancel the whole booking. If the price drops in that window, book the cheaper fare first to lock it in, then cancel the original in Manage Trips for a refund to your card.
Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst and Mint fares change with no fee. Switch to the same flight at the lower fare in Manage Trips and JetBlue gives you the difference as travel credit. Flex fares go further: cancel for a refund to your original card, then rebook at the new price. Same-day switches are a separate thing and cost $100 on most fares.
Base fares, like Main Base, cost $150 per person to change or cancel, so a drop only pays when it beats that. Older Blue Basic tickets, booked on or before July 29, 2026, cannot be changed at all; cancelling costs $100 within North America, Central America and the Caribbean, or $200 on other routes.
After the first 24 hours, what you get back is JetBlue travel credit, not cash, unless you hold a Flex fare. The credit is valid for 12 months from when you first bought the ticket, not from the day you claim the drop, so an older booking leaves you less time to use it.
