Your Allegiant Air fare dropped $78

Here's exactly how to claim the difference.

The rules of the game

The fundamentals

Four things to know about Allegiant Air price drops before deciding whether to claim one.

The 24-hour refund

Within 24 hours of buying, you can cancel an entire Allegiant trip for a full refund, as long as departure was at least a week away when you booked and it was not a package with a hotel or car. If the price drops in that window, book the cheaper fare first, then cancel.

No price adjustments

Allegiant gives no credit or refund for a price difference once you have booked, and it will not move you to the same flight at a lower price. To capture a drop you cancel for a credit voucher and buy the cheaper ticket again.

The 7-day line and the fees

Without Trip Flex you must cancel at least 7 days before departure, and Allegiant keeps a $25 fee plus carrier charges, about $47 per person on each flight. Inside 7 days nothing comes back. Trip Flex waives the fee once, though its own cost is not returned.

Credit, not cash

What comes back is an Allegiant credit voucher. It cannot be transferred, and travel on it must be completed within one year of your original booking. So a drop is worth chasing only when it clearly beats the fees and you will fly Allegiant again.

After that, the only way to capture a drop is to cancel at least 7 days before departure for a credit voucher and rebook, and Allegiant keeps a $25 fee plus carrier charges per person, per flight. Yes. US federal law requires airlines to let you cancel any flight within 24 hours of booking for a full cash refund, as long as the flight departs at least 7 days away. This applies to all fare types, including Basic Economy. It is the most reliable way to capture a price drop right after you book.

It depends on when you act. Within 24 hours of booking, you always get a full cash refund by law. After that window, Allegiant Air typically issues the fare difference as a travel credit or voucher tied to your account, not cash. See the specific methods above for details on each path.

For cancellations within 24 hours of booking, Allegiant Air is required by law to process your cash refund within 7 business days for credit card payments and 20 business days for other payment methods. Travel credits from fare changes are typically available on your account within minutes to a few hours.

Yes. The amount depends on your fare class. Without Trip Flex, 7+ days out: $25 fee + carrier charges per person, per flight · Without Trip Flex, within 7 days: No credit · With Trip Flex: Free. If you booked at least 7 days before departure, you can cancel within 24 hours of booking for a full cash refund on any fare class. No change fee applies inside that DOT window.
