JetBlue’s Mosaic status counts dollars, not miles or segments, and your JetBlue credit card spend counts too. On October 22, 2026, JetBlue told members that TrueBlue perks get a refresh on February 1, 2027: new bonus tiles on the way to Mosaic, perks you can pick again, and free upgrades to its new first class.
This guide covers how the whole program works, not just the news: how tiles add up, the four Mosaic levels and their benefits, Perks You Pick before and after the change, and what your TrueBlue points are worth. Every rule below is from JetBlue’s own pages, checked on October 22, 2026.
What’s changing in 2027
Most changes start February 1, 2027. Here is what JetBlue says is changing, and what isn’t.
Staying the same
- Earning and redeeming TrueBlue points.
- Earning tiles: 1 tile for every $100 of qualifying JetBlue spend or $1,000 of qualifying JetBlue credit card spend.
- The Mosaic thresholds: 50, 100, 150 and 250 tiles.
Changing
- A new 2-Tile Bonus. At each of the 10, 20, 30 and 40 tile milestones you can choose 2 bonus tiles, up to 8 in total on the way to Mosaic.
- Pick a perk again. Perks You Pick is no longer one of each. Every milestone lets you choose anything on that milestone’s menu, including something you picked before. You have 60 days to choose.
- Smaller points picks, more often. The 5,000 point bonus becomes a 1,000 point bonus you can take at 10, 20, 30 and 40 tiles, up to 4,000 points.
- Day-of-travel perks become one-flight passes. Early Boarding, Priority Security and the free alcoholic drink apply to your next eligible JetBlue flight only.
- Free upgrades to BlueFirst for every Mosaic level, once BlueFirst seats are flying.
- Retiring: the 2X points bonus on a JetBlue Vacations booking. You can still select it through January 31, 2027.
- New Mosaic menus with bigger points picks (up to 70,000 points across the four levels), BlueHouse lounge passes and a Premium Upgrade Certificate from Mosaic 2. Mint Suite Priority, the $99 card statement credit, FoundersCard and IHG status leave the menu.
If you picked perks in 2026
Everything earned or picked in 2026 is valid only through January 31, 2027 (JetBlue’s Mosaic page). So a perk you pick in December lasts about two months. If you’re close to a milestone, it still makes sense to pick, just don’t count on it for spring travel.
How JetBlue tiles work
Tiles are how JetBlue measures progress toward perks and status. They have no cash value and can’t be spent on flights; that’s what points are for. You earn both at once. From JetBlue’s tiles page:
| You earn | For |
|---|---|
| 1 tile per $100 | JetBlue flights (including many extras and fees), JetBlue Vacations packages, and TrueBlue Travel (hotels, vacation rentals and activities) |
| 1 tile per $100 | United-operated flights booked on jetblue.com or the JetBlue app (JetBlue and United). JetBlue’s page covers bookings made through JetBlue, so book there to be sure. |
| 1 tile per $1,000 | Spend on any JetBlue credit card |
The details that trip people up:
- Travel tiles land after the trip, not when you book. Card tiles count by the date a purchase posts, whatever your billing cycle, so a purchase that posts on December 31 counts for that year. December’s card tiles show up in mid to late January.
- Travel and card spend don’t mix inside one tile. $60 of flights and $400 of card spend won’t make a tile; each adds up separately and only whole tiles combine in your tracker.
- Only your own seat counts. Paying for a friend’s ticket earns you nothing. The exception is Family Tiles: enrol a child under 13 before travel and their tiles go to the parent’s tracker.
- No tiles on taxes, government fees or travel insurance. An award flight paid fully in points earns no tiles; on Cash + Points, only the cash part earns (TrueBlue terms).
- Tiles reset to zero on January 1. Points don’t.
Mosaic levels and how to get Mosaic
There are four levels. The tile counts are not changing in 2027 (JetBlue).
| Level | Tiles | JetBlue spend alone | Card spend alone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mosaic 1 | 50 | $5,000 | $50,000 |
| Mosaic 2 | 100 | $10,000 | $100,000 |
| Mosaic 3 | 150 | $15,000 | $150,000 |
| Mosaic 4 | 250 | $25,000 | $250,000 |
Spend columns are simple math from 1 tile per $100 of qualifying travel and 1 per $1,000 on a card. Most people mix the two.
How to get JetBlue Mosaic faster
- Fly and book through JetBlue. Flights, Vacations packages and TrueBlue Travel all earn at the faster $100 rate.
- Put everyday spend on a JetBlue card for the slower $1,000 rate. It fills gaps between trips.
- From February 2027, take the 2-Tile Bonus at each of the four milestones. That’s 8 tiles, worth $800 of JetBlue spend, and Mosaic 1 at 42 earned tiles.
- Buy tiles if you’re just short. JetBlue sells them through its Mosaic page; check the price against what the status is worth to you.
Status lasts the rest of the year you earn it, the whole next year, and through January 31 after that. Earn Mosaic in 2026 and it runs to January 31, 2028 (TrueBlue terms).
JetBlue Mosaic benefits by level
Each level brings Signature Perks automatically, plus one pick from a Perks You Pick menu (next section). The Signature Perks, from JetBlue’s Mosaic page:
| Benefit | Mosaic 1 | Mosaic 2 | Mosaic 3 | Mosaic 4 |

Every Mosaic level also gets:
- Mosaic boarding, priority security and dedicated check-in.
- First alcoholic drink free (21 and over).
- Preferred Main Cabin seats.
- Same-day switches from 24 hours before departure with no fee or fare difference (not on Base fares).
- Enhanced compensation when flights are disrupted.
- Space-available upgrades to BlueFirst (see below).
Two Signature Perks are added on February 1, 2027 (JetBlue): a pet fee waiver from Mosaic 2, and, for JetBlue Premier cardmembers at Mosaic 3 or 4, 5X points at restaurants and grocery stores on up to $50,000 a year. Bags, EvenMore and companion perks apply when the Mosaic member is on the same reservation and checks in with everyone.
Perks You Pick, today and from 2027
How Perks You Pick works today
Today, you pick one perk at 10, 20, 30 and 40 tiles, and each perk can be picked once (JetBlue’s perks page). The menu: Early Boarding (Group 3), Priority Security, a free alcoholic drink, 2X points on a JetBlue Vacations package, or 5,000 bonus points. Early Boarding, Priority Security and the drink work on every JetBlue-operated flight from the day you pick them. Any perks you didn’t pick on the way are added automatically when you reach Mosaic.
At each Mosaic level you pick once more from the Mosaic menu: Mint Suite Priority, FoundersCard Blue, a pet fee waiver, a $99 statement credit on select JetBlue cards, a 20-Tile Bonus, gifting 20 tiles to someone, 15,000 bonus points, or IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status.
The menu before Mosaic, from February 1, 2027
You still choose at 10, 20, 30 and 40 tiles, but now from the same menu every time, and you can repeat a pick (JetBlue):
| Perk | What you get |
|---|---|
| 1,000-Point Bonus | 1,000 points. Up to 4,000 if you pick it at all four milestones. |
| 2-Tile Bonus | 2 tiles for this year. All four picks means 8 fewer tiles to Mosaic 1. |
| Early Boarding Pass | Group 3 boarding on your next eligible JetBlue flight (not Base fares). |
| Alcoholic Drink Pass | First beer, wine or spirit free on your next eligible JetBlue flight. |
| Priority Security Pass | The fast security lane on your next eligible trip, at participating airports. |
The Mosaic menus, from February 1, 2027
Each Mosaic level gets its own menu, and points picks get bigger as you go up (JetBlue):
| Perk | Mosaic 1 | Mosaic 2 | Mosaic 3 | Mosaic 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Point Bonus | 10,000 | 10,000 | 20,000 | 30,000 |
| Tile Bonus, this year | 10 | 10 | 20 | No |
| Tile Headstart, next year | 10 | 10 | 20 | 30 |
| One BlueHouse pass | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| One Premium Upgrade Certificate | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Gift Mosaic 3, or a year of BlueHouse | No | No | No | Yes |
JetBlue Premier cardmembers get extra options: gift 10 tiles at Mosaic 1, gift Mosaic 1 or Mosaic 2 status at Mosaic 2 or 3, and a companion fare statement credit of up to $500 at Mosaic 3 or up to $1,500 at Mosaic 4 (base fare only). A Tile Headstart is not the same as a Tile Bonus: it counts toward next year’s total, not this year’s. And each level is one pick, so you choose points, tiles or a pass at each level, not all three.
BlueFirst upgrades for Mosaic
BlueFirst is JetBlue’s new domestic first class, with wide recliner seats in the first rows. The first route, Boston to Fort Lauderdale, starts December 8, with more routes through 2027 (JetBlue’s BlueFirst page). Free upgrades start when the first BlueFirst plane arrives. How they work, from JetBlue’s upgrade page:
- Who: every Mosaic level, plus JetBlue Premier cardmembers without status when they pay with the Premier card.
- Automatic. You’re added to the list at check-in. Upgrades clear from 60 minutes before departure if a seat is free.
- Priority: Mosaic 4, then 3, 2, 1, then Premier cardmembers. Within each group, paying with a JetBlue card comes first, then an EvenMore fare, then tiles earned this year.
- One companion on the same reservation can be upgraded too, if two seats are free. Reservations with three or more travelers aren’t eligible.
- Eligible fares: Main and EvenMore, including Flex and flights booked with points. Base fares are not eligible, and upgrades never go to Mint.
- The seat, not the ticket. An upgrade gets you the BlueFirst seat and onboard service, but not BlueFirst’s bag allowance or check-in. Your original fare rules still apply, and points and tiles are earned on the fare you bought.
For a confirmed seat instead of a wait, Premium Upgrade Certificates (the old Move to Mint certificates) can be used for BlueFirst or Mint when space is available. How many certificates an upgrade takes depends on the cabin and the flight distance.
Is it a devaluation?
It depends on how much you fly. Coverage on announcement day split the same way: Upgraded Points called the changes “all good news,” while View from the Wing pointed out what less frequent flyers lose. Here are the numbers, all from JetBlue’s current and 2027 pages.
What gets smaller
| Perk | Today | From Feb 1, 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Points before Mosaic | 5,000 in one pick | 1,000 per pick, 4,000 at most |
| Early Boarding, Priority Security, drink | Every JetBlue flight until the perk expires | Your next eligible flight only |
| Mosaic 1 and 2 points pick | 15,000 | 10,000 (Mosaic 3 and 4 go up, to 20,000 and 30,000) |
| Mosaic 1 and 2 tile pick | 20 tiles | 10 this year, or 10 next year |
| Gift tiles to someone | 20 tiles, any Mosaic member | 10 tiles, Premier cardmembers at Mosaic 1 only |
| Vacations 2X, Mint Suite Priority, $99 credit, FoundersCard, IHG | On the menus | Retired |
To put the points in dollars: at NerdWallet’s estimate of 1.4 cents, 5,000 points is about $70 and 4,000 is about $56. And you only get the 4,000 by spending all four picks on points, which means giving up the bonus tiles and the passes. The bigger loss for someone who flies JetBlue every few weeks is the passes. Today one pick covers early boarding on every flight; from February it covers one.
Members on Reddit’s r/JetBlue made the same point on announcement day. In the thread about changes for members below Mosaic, the switch from perks that last all year to one-flight passes was the part people called a real cut, more than the smaller points pick.
What gets better
- Mosaic gets cheaper to reach: 8 bonus tiles is $800 less JetBlue spend for Mosaic 1.
- Repeat picks mean you can take the perk you actually use every time.
- Bigger Mosaic points: 70,000 points if you take points at all four levels, about $980 at NerdWallet’s estimate.
- Free BlueFirst upgrades for every Mosaic level, and BlueHouse passes on every Mosaic menu.
- Mosaic 4 and Premier cardmembers gain the most: up to 8 certificates a year, 5X on dining and groceries at Mosaic 3 and 4, and companion credits up to $1,500.
The short version
If you fly JetBlue a few times a year and never reach Mosaic, you lose a little: fewer points and one-flight passes. If you reach Mosaic, and especially Mosaic 3 or 4 with a Premier card, you come out ahead.
What TrueBlue points are worth
JetBlue has no award chart. Award flights cost points in line with the cash fare, so TrueBlue points are worth about the same on most flights. That makes them easier to value than most airline points:
- NerdWallet’s estimate: 1.4 cents per point on flights (NerdWallet, updated August 2026).
- Frequent Miler’s estimate: 1.3 cents, from a year of redemptions to April 2026 (Frequent Miler).
- JetBlue’s own framing is about 1 cent: its card ad calls 70,000 points “$700 in award travel.”
So 10,000 points is roughly $130 to $140 in flights by those estimates. TrueBlue points don’t expire, and JetBlue lets members pool points together.
How many points you earn
From JetBlue’s Mosaic page: every member earns 3 points per dollar on JetBlue flights, plus 3 more when you book on jetblue.com, for 6 in total. Base fares earn 1, or 2 on jetblue.com. Mosaic adds 3 more per dollar at Mosaic 1 and 2, 4 at Mosaic 3 (10 in total) and 5 at Mosaic 4 (11 in total). Points are earned on the fare before taxes and fees.
What Plot watches
Plot watches the cash fare of a JetBlue flight you’ve booked, not TrueBlue points prices. If you paid cash, a lower fare later is money you can get back as JetBlue credit. Here’s how.
When your JetBlue fare drops
JetBlue fares move after you book, and JetBlue’s fare rules make a drop easy to use (JetBlue fare options):
- Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst and Mint: no change fee. Switch to the same flight at the lower fare in Manage Trips and JetBlue keeps the difference as travel credit, valid 12 months from when you first bought the ticket.
- Base fares: $150 per person to change, so a drop only pays when it beats that.
- Within 24 hours of booking (and 7 or more days before departure), you can cancel for a full refund, so book the cheaper fare first and then cancel the original.
Plot’s JetBlue price drop guide has the steps, including older Blue Basic tickets.
- Forward your JetBlue confirmation email to Plot.
- Plot Pro watches your flight’s cash fare until departure.
- When it drops, you get the new price and the steps to claim the difference from JetBlue.
Let Plot watch your JetBlue fare
Forward your JetBlue confirmation and Plot Pro watches the cash fare until you fly. When the same flight gets cheaper, you get an alert with the new price and how to switch to it. Plot watches cash fares, not TrueBlue points prices.
